Fashionistas, keep an eye out for a designer of the future.

Kempsey Girls Academy graduate Temeka Fathers was accepted into the prestigious Whitehouse Institute of Design, in Sydney.

She put together a resumé and submitted a creative design portfolio, which included major work she completed for her high school certificate — and, yes, she designed the outfit she is wearing in this photograph!

Temeka also had to write a motivation statement, explaining why she wanted to go to Whitehouse.

Although she had to conduct her interview via teleconference, she prepared for it as if it were face to face and it obviously paid off — Whitehouse were impressed with her application and her interview.

When she heard she had been accepted she said she “jumped up and down and cried a little bit”.
