We are proud to announce that Girls Academy CEO and Founder Ricky Grace is a finalist for Western Australian of the Year!

Ricky has been working tirelessly for 15 years to lead what has become Australia’s premier in-school mentoring program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls.

The West Australian featured a great article on the finalists. Ricky told The West why he created the Girls Academy program:

“When I found out about the lack of support for Aboriginal girls it really disappointed me. I have daughters and I grew up with a single mum so I know how hard it can be for girls.

“To recreate myself and be recognised for the contribution I have made to WA, I am lost for a word to describe how happy I am.”
